This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you visit our website (www.empactwellness.co.za), use our services, or interact with us. This Privacy Policy also applies to your use of the Empact Wellness mobile application unless otherwise stated.

Emergency Contact Information: Email address, telephone number of emergency contact person.

Health Information: Only to the extent you voluntarily disclose such data during app use or during interactions with the Empact Navigator, Companion and/or Case Manager.

5. Sharing Your Information

We may share your personal information with trusted third parties, strictly for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy and in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). These third parties include:

Practitioners within the Empact Wellness Programme: This includes Empact Navigators, Companions, and Case Managers, who may access your personal information solely for the purpose of supporting your wellness journey, providing guidance, escalating concerns, or delivering services through the App.
Service Providers: Such as IT and infrastructure providers, analytics vendors, communication platforms, and customer support teams who help us operate, secure, and improve the App and related services.
Legal and Regulatory Authorities: Where required by law or regulation, or in response to lawful requests, court orders, or legal processes, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Empact or others.
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, business restructuring, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the new entity, subject to confidentiality obligations.

All third parties with whom we share your personal information are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of your information and to comply with applicable data protection laws, including POPIA. They may only use your information for the specific purposes for which it was shared.

Empact may compile and share aggregated, de-identified data reports with your employer or the organisation through which you access the App. These insights may include usage trends, engagement levels, and wellness outcomes, and are shared solely to support organisational wellbeing strategies and programme evaluation.
Such data is fully anonymised and does not include any information that could reasonably identify you. All such sharing is conducted in accordance with POPIA and does not compromise your confidentiality or individual privacy.

Empact may share anonymised, aggregated wellness reports with your employer for programme insights. These reports do not identify you personally.

In the case of credible risk of self-harm, suicide, or harm to others, relevant personal information may be shared with your employer or a designated representative, solely for the purpose of ensuring your safety and in accordance with POPIA.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure, or access. However, please note that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure.

7. Your Rights

You may:

Request access, correction or deletion of your data;
Object to processing or withdraw consent;
Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

Cookies are used to enhance user experience, analyse site usage, and improve service delivery. You may disable cookies via your browser settings.
